A. Hi Dean.

Obviously the "®" tells us that this is a proprietary name, not a description of a generic process. If any reader can tell us either who the manufacturer is, or generically what general type of finish it is, please do. But we can't have any discussion of purported "1000 hour salt spray" capability, or anything else good or bad about a proprietary finish ( huh? why?) -- we've learned that lesson :-)

Thank you Ted, I know a shot in the dark. It is proprietary finish from "New Fasteners Are Here" company. I suspect the name Black Luster is proprietary, however, the finish process isn't and may be a common finish.
