Q. We are looking for an equipment supplier to provide Phosphate Plating Equipment to batch process finished gear sets. Any suggestions?

A. Hi, Patrick. Our Equipment Directory lists some companies specializing in building plating lines and similar equipment. You'll need to determine more specifically what kind of phosphatized coating you are looking for. Usually gears will be manganese phosphated as a guard against metal to metal galling in the event of momentary lack of lubrication such as the first second when a new car is started up for the first time.
Good luck.

What dispensing equipment do we use for phosphatizing pretreatment line?
Q. Our company is in the process of acquiring a batch process powder coat finishing system. We do not know what equipment or where to find equipment for dispensing the phosphate cleaners. WE assume we need some type of power washer. We also assume we need an evaporator to make dispensing of the used cleaning chemicals easier.
We would appreciate your advise.

A. If by dispensing, you mean metering the chemicals into the bath, you're probably looking for a standard metering pump. LMI and Prominent are two of the more common suppliers of these pumps. There are several manufacturers.
I'd suggest doing an internet search for metering pumps and contacting suppliers/distributors. Be sure to tell them what you're metering and how much you think you'll need. They'll be able to determine the best model.

A. The first people to ask are your chemical and plant suppliers.
They know best what works with your plant and are unlikely to suggest unsuitable equipment.
