Need Titanium Baskets for Nickel Plating

July 12, 2011

Hello,
I am a Panel Beater and Spray painter by trade.
I am in the process of setting up a small Nickel Plating bath for Motorcycle restoration Parts.
The plating bath is approximately 150 Litres. 3 ft long x 1.5 ft deep x 2 ft wide (approx. only I have not measured this exactly)
I would like to know where I can purchase 2 x Titanium baskets for this set up. Happy to buy direct from USA and ship if the price is Ok. Also can I purchase Nickel Ingots in small quantities eg: 2 Kilograms as the supplier in Australia will only sell in 10 kg lots.

Kind Regards
and thank you for any assistance with the above.

Hi, Mark.

I think you will find that more than 2 baskets and more than 10 kg of nickel are desirable for optimal performance. You usually should have about twice as much anode surface area as cathode surface area.
