Recovery/Electrolysis of zinc
December 5, 2009
hello:
I need your knowledge about electrolysis of zinc, I will appreciate any kind of advice:
1.- single batch
2.- want to recover zinc before sending the final solution to the public service.
3.- impurities: Fe,Ni, Cu
4.- anode: Pb, cathode: Al.
Well, my questions,
a.- anode and cathode are they right?, any kind of Pb, and Al?
b.- equations to establish current and voltage required.
c.- Temperature optimal (small test gets hot)
d.- How to avoid interferences (hydrogen bubbles near to the cathode, oxygen close to anode).
e.- operational parameters, pH, temperature,
Thanks a lot and thanks for your time.
