RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN Sa value and micron finish of surface

Is there any relationship between Sa values and Micron finish of surfaces after sand/shot blasting.
Also, let us know is there any measuring instrument available to measure such surface finish with conversion.

your reply shall be appreciated.

regards,
Joshi

Hi, Ratnakar. I don't think any such conversion is possible. "Sa" is a Swedish Institute for Standards designation for blasted finishes -- approximately equivalent to SSPC, NACE, and ISO 8501 standards.

Please see thread 12526 for a more complete explanation.
