Alternative to Magni coatings?
RFQ: I am looking for details on "Delta Magni" and details of the process to do this coating. Our company is into fastener manufacturing and we are looking for potential sources for Delta Magni.

RFQ: I would like to know whether already exist any applicators for Magni, Geomet or Dacromet corrosion resistant coatings in India having Dip-Spin facilities. If yes, their contact numbers and address. If not, which coatings among say Magni, Geomet or Dacromet is most suitable for Indian conditions.

RFQ: I work for a company that requires Magni coating application extensively. Currently there is only one supplier in India.
Is there an alternate coating or plating method of coating to give a result of 500 hrs salt spray? It is highly risky to depend on one supplier.

A. I wonder if you would like your customers to be as interested in finding alternative sources as you are.
At any rate, competitive coatings are offered by Doerken (Dorken) and Metal Coatings International.

Q. I am looking for a non-plating type corrosion protection coating to coat 1050 carbon steel that is dry to the touch, thin , and that will last at least 50 hours in salt spray per ASTM B117. Does anyone know of a product I can look into? Application must be by barrel or dip-spin process. Thanks

A. Dear inquirer,
Yes, there are corrosion protection systems available. It's called "micro coat protection system". Coating thickness could be 5 micron for your application by dip-spin technique. These are chrome-free coatings and most of them are water based and environmentally friendly. It requires baking after the coating process. Go to Magni or Dacro or Doerken of USA for suitable coatings.
