Muriatic acid treatment okay with Kids in the house?

My parents are having their basement cleaned with Muriatic acid. They are supposed to babysit for the night. I'm not sure I want my children hanging out and sleeping in the house after this chemical is used. Does it dissipate? Should I keep them home? The cleaning will be completed a couple of hours before I bring them.

Ed. note: Sorry, this RFQ is old & outdated, so contact info is no longer available. However, if you feel that something technical should be said in reply, please post it; no public commercial suggestions please ( huh? why?)

Hi, Beth. Unfortunately, no one can hazard a guess on that from this distance. Depends on the windows, doors, fans used, experience of contractor, separation of basement from bedrooms. I think it's a bad idea. Of course, I think the muriatic acid this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] cleaning is probably a bad idea in the first place. What do we mean by "having their basement cleaned with muriatic acid"? I don't understand who is doing what and why.
