Can I polish car steel parts like chrome

Hi yes I was wondering I have a couple of car steel valve covers and other car steel parts I was wondering how can I sand them to look like a chrome finish I have a 63 Impala I want to make all the parts look like chrome underneath the car. Can some one help me step by step thanks

Please see our Chrome Plating Tutorial, William. It is not possible to polish steel to a chrome-like look, but it is certainly possible to get the steel parts chrome plated.
