Passivation AMSQQP35 TYPE 2/ TYPE 8
I KNOW THAT IT'S A MILITARY PASSIVATION STANDARD, BUT WHAT IS IT? WHAT IS THE PROCESS TO ACHIEVE IT? AND HOW CAN I TEST IT?

Hi Dustin!
You can read up on passivation by checking out the FAQ here, and by going to the ASSIST website and getting a copy of QQ-P-35. The times, temperatures, and compositions of the Type 2 and the type 8 baths haven't changed in the iterations that the spec has taken, from QQ-P-35C
[from DLA]
to AMSQQP35
[canceled] to AMS2700. Yet the testing procedures have, so if you have signed up to do work per the specification you'd be real wise to buy a copy and read it. Both AMS versions are available from SAE.
