I need a patina finish on a steel spiral staircase
I am seeking a finish that will make an interior steel spiral staircase look patina-like with shades of brown....what finish and/or acid coat do you use to accomplish this?
PLEASE HELP ME ASAP !

Goran Budija posted this one awhile back regarding another issue regarding protection of galvanized roofing in letter 34208.
"You can use 20 gm tannic acid ⇦ this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] /15 gm phosphoric acid/1 lit water solution (this is simple and cheap rust converter ⇦ this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] ). You must lacquer or wax it!"

You can use next solution(reddish brown):
15 gm iron chloride
1 lit water or pure alcohol
Paint it(or spray) on well degreased object.Repeat if need.Wax or lacquer it.
Good luck!
