Color and scratch resistant coating for pure titanium
Hey all, I am working at a sporting optics manufacturer and was handed the task of finding a new supplier and/or process for coating our titanium scope tubes. The current vendor is not interested in supplying us any longer and from the paper work I have found on this project we have been doing the coating process the hard way. We are coating the inner layer with a PVD to get the desired color and then teflon coating it to get the desired scratch resistance. The production runs are very small(about 40 pieces/yr) and upper management wants the remaining stock to be finished(about 300 pieces). Is there another way to do this finish coating process? Any help is appreciated.
