Info on this great art of chrome plating
I'm a 24 y.o. male who is interested in starting a chroming business out here in Buffalo. I would like info on where to get my schooling and hands on experience if poss. I'm a dedicated person and would like to do something I like. I would like to start a chroming business because I like the way my motorcycle parts came back. I mean I sent them out all dull and I got them back looking beautiful. So any info would be truly grateful.
Thank you for your time.

I want to start a chrome plating business in our area. I am thinking of plating small parts up to motorcycle frames and car bumpers. Can anybody tell me the best equipment to do quality processes and where I can buy some used equipment to get me started? How much will I have to spend?

Hi, my name's Andrew. I recently became interested is starting a chroming business. There are no specific chrome or powder coating shops in Des Moines so I feel there is a lot of business waiting for me if I could open a business. I am trying to learn everything I can about chroming such as all the equipment I need, tools, chemicals, etc. I am having trouble finding the specific information I need and was hoping you could help me. Anything input would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

OK folks, read the archives first. There are dozens of people that want to get rich and have asked the same questions before. Some answers are quite complete, some are borderline snotty and some just too simple or short. So, there is no reason to spend time going over what is already available to you from several people.

Gee, I'm not the only one who gets daily inquiries about going into business dipping parts in chrome?
What I would suggest to all those interested is to talk to someone who operates a chrome shop or any other plating facility. Find out what type of expenses and regulation they have to go through. The if you are still interested, as Ted has told others, get a job working in a shop.
