Need re-porcelain of my stove grates
RFQ: My stove has porcelain coated cast iron grates (that pans rest on while cooking) and the coating is coming off. They are ten years old and the manufacturer of the stove is out of business. I am looking for a place to have them recoated. I doubt it it is worth having them re made but recoating seems like a viable idea. Thanks, Mike Shanin

Gas Stove Grates on eBay or Amazon
A. Recoating will not be worth it unless you are really trying to save the stove because, due to labor costs, it costs 10x as much to coat a few special pieces as it costs to coat a mass-production item. I strongly doubt that anyone would quote under $100.
