Legislation on copper plating
Could somebody post up the current legislation (if any) on the use of copper sulphate ⇦this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] for electroplating, and its disposal.
Thanks,

I know of no legislation on copper sulphate. I am also looking for info on copper plating using copper sulphate. See question 18667. I also do not know what the furor of disposing copper sulphate is all about. The stock people (cattle, horses, etc)put copper sulphate in the watering tanks/troughs to get rid of algae. It does not bother the stock and the grass/brush around the trough is much greener than the surrounding area, due to the water.

Bill, your situation may be different than Andrew's. Here in the USA all plating waste is hazardous, by statute.
copper sulphate is indeed used to kill algae, but in stronger concentrations I think it can kill vegetable life.
