What is/was CHEMPLATE?
We have an old drawing that calls out for CHEMPLATE finish, from CHEMPLATE CORP. in LA, who seems to be out of business. I need to subtitute a finish, but I don't know what the CHEMPLATE is or what its properties are. Do you?
Thanks,

Perhaps the response to letter8085 will lead you to a product that does much the same thing.

We sadly relate the news that Bill passed away on Jan. 29, 2010.
Chemplate was a plating company in the Los Angeles area. Was located in the City of Commerce. They specialized in Chrome plating and sold a line of Commercial Truck Chrome accessories and OEM bumpers, the line was called Truckmate. I don't have the exact date but approx. 1983-84 was when the company closed.

I used to work there. Chemplate was the name they used in their early days for their process for electroless nickel plating. later they became a Kanigen(r) licensee.
