Compatibility of bright dip on certain alloy

I would like to know if a bright dip process is possible on the aluminum alloy series 2030 T4. I was told its copper content would not allow such a process. True or not? Thank you for your reply.

This won't be the definitive answer, but from a quick review, it seems that copper enhances the effect of chemical brighteners, especially for low alloy Al alloys. So it may be possible, but it may become economically unfeasible, if the brightening solutions lose their punch quickly from the buildup of copper. See also letter 1761.
