We use a short-term protective oil product which is known as Ferrocote 5856 HF. This product is available from Quaker Chemical Corporation in Conshohocken, PA.
Hope this helps.

Robert,
The term Ferrocote in our facility means Ferrocote 1-72 from Quaker Products Co. We use it as a short term (3 to 6 months) preservative oil for our steel and aluminum parts.

I am looking for a source to apply Ferrocote to cold headed fasteners. Any leads would be very helpful.
