- Rhodium chloride electrolyte Does anyone have any ideas about plating rhodium from a chloride bath? Variations on the palladium chloride baths that appear in the literature I've seen do not seem to work too well.

Why not sulphate, Bill? I'm not a rhodium plating expert, but everything I've seen in the literature suggests that sulphate is fine, relatively easy, and the generally accepted method. If this your own chloride formulation or a proprietary?

Ted is right, if you look it up in the literature, you'll see sulphate, phosphate and mixed sulphate
- phosphate baths. Why do you want to use chloride? Plater B

The idea is to plate out the rhodium metal in a large quantity of rhodium chloride. One of my customers has somehow come up with a bunch of this RhCl, and wants to pull the metallic out. Thanks!

Hi Ted, No, we're not trying to recover or reprocess in a RCRA sort of way; it's more of an electrolytic refining process we're looking for. The RhCl is not a process by-product; it's this guy's end product that is sold to people who refine out the rhodium. The idea (hope) is to do that ourselves.
