Powdering of Cadmium Plating
I am seeing sublimation (powdering) of cadmium plating on aircraft hardware inside a wing which is only 4 months old.
The aircraft has been on the east coast since late April. No other corrosion is evident in the wing.

It is important to determine if it is truly the cadmium plate that is powdering or is a conversion coating that was applied to the cadmium powdering? This would have a significant difference in what my opinion would be.

Is some kind of chemical or moisture being sprayed onto the part or area where the powder is observed?
