Blackening Nickel plated Iron Parts

I want to blacken Nickel plated iron articles. Please suggest some basic chemicals which is available everywhere. These branded chemicals are not easily available in India.

Dear Sir,

To my knowledge there are no chemicals to blacken Nickel directly. If it is buttons you are looking to blacken , then people copper plate over bright nickel and use the normal copper blackening salts available with CMP for the purpose.

Alternatively try Black Nickel.
