SEEKING PASSIVATION OF STAINLESS STEEL PIPES
We are faced with a problem of contamination of 308 and 308l stainless steel pipes due to use of carbon steel stringer brushes and cup brushes. We have the corrosion coming up on the pipes. Could you suggest what action should be taken to remove this contamination and could you suggest a vendor in Malaysia who could help us?

Ramesh:
WYK Chemical PTE LTD in Singapore should be able to help you with this. They have a citric acid based product that can be safely used in the field, and will effectively remove the iron and rust. If you contact us, we can give you their email address, phone, etc. We cannot post it here.
