Retouching surface marks on black anodised aluminum
I want advice on a product to retouch scratch marks and abrasion on a black aluminum telescopic scope tube. I do not expect to restore it to new gloss black condition, just to cover silver marks on the black tube. In fact I have tried using a felt-tipped pen and it looks passable, but comes straight off. Because of the lenses, it would not be feasible to completely refinish the scope. I wondered if a black coating substance could be oversprayed with a durable clear layer? I also fix up old cameras and so this request is relevant to that activity as well.
