Hi, it's not a good idea to accept the 5s theory as a single entity, it is part of a wider Japanese work and company ethic.

You could just a easily end up with only the 1s method (stuff everywhere).

Gemba Kaizen [on Amazon affil links] by Masaaki Imai is the place to start, strangely for a business book it's really a compelling read.
