WE HAVE A FOSSIL FUEL FURNACE WHERE WE MELT ZINC DROSS TO MAKE SECONDARY ZINC INGOTS(GOB). SOMETIMES THE PERCENTAGE OF ALUMINIUM AND IRON IS VERY HIGH WHICH RENDERS THE ZINC UNSUITABLE FOR OUR END USERS. IS THERE ANY WAY TO SEPARATE OTHER METALS LIKE ALUMINIUM, COPPER, IRON FROM THE MOLTEN ZINC. CAN ANY ONE HELP

Dear AJAY BANSAL,

There are different methods to remove impurities from Zinc base metal. Which secondary grade you want to produce? PW grade could be produced by pyrometallurgical method.

The process to get 99.9 % pure zinc is only distillation.

I can guide you in detail upon your reply.
