Nitric Acid/DI Water Solution Tank/Basin
We are looking for a drainable plastic tank/basin that will handle a 20 percent nitric acid/DI water solution at ambient temperature, left in the tank for 2-3 months at a time, usage is everyday and covered when not in use, and a size of 24" x 24" x 12" deep. We have an exhaust hood in place already. What to use and where to go.
Thank you any help you may have.

Rick,
I do not have an axe to grind BUT what you indicate seems very simple to control.
- l. What about stainless steel?
- 2. What about (some of the) good plastics? Ie. PVC comes foremost to mind because of simplicity of manufacture and cost. Don't use Polyethylene or Polypropylene because of stress areas at welds re nitric....
- There are other plastics but they cost more, too! For ultra long life, I'd use PVDF. If impact is of any consideration, then the PVC should be reinforced with fibreglass (i.e., bonded to it).

Try a reputable plastics fabricator in your area. OK?
Cheers !
