Electroless Nickel Formulation Required

2001

I am looking for a formulation (out of patent of course) to make for my own use a medium electroless solution (8 % phosphorous) to coat screws nuts bolts etc in a competitive manner.

Can anyone suggest either a formulation and replenishment formulations, or suggest any literature which may help. It does not need to be high tech just a reasonable bath life 4/5 turnovers speed of 0.0005" /hr.

Regards

Dave,

Companies invest a great deal of money in developing EN processes that will not decompose, will not suffer from step plating, will not have pitting, will not be over or under stabilized, will have a constant content of phosphor, will withstand the required hours in salt spray cabinet, etc. Therefore these formulas are trade secrets. I see that you are from UK, some of the finest suppliers are located there. Please let them earn their living. But if you are looking for just any formulation that cannot offer you all the advantages that I mentioned, you can find simple formulas in the Metal-Finishing Guide book.
