Aluminium Alloy for HazLoc enclosures on offshore (oil & gas) platforms
Dear Sir,
We are manufacturers of cast aluminium alloy enclosures for use in Hazardous Area in Oil & Gas Industry. These are manufactured from Al Alloy LM6 with epoxy painting for protection. However Oil & gas platforms located in offshore have environment which is highly humid & contains salt vapour. For such type of environment, we wish to know the best grade of Aluminium alloy & the protective coating to be given for manufacturing such enclosures. As these enclosures are located in Hazardous area, it should should pass test for incendivity. As a thumb rule magnesium in the alloy shall not exceed 0.2%
