Heat treatment of carbon steel

Hi I am a student. I would like a theory background on heat treatment of carbon steel. Thankx

You question does not mention anything specific about heat treatment of steel. There are many process of heat treament and some of them are :

Carburizing
Nitriding
Nitrocarburizing
Carbonitriding
Oxinite process
flame hardening
Austenizing - Annealing--Spherodizing--normalizing etc.etc.

Details about these process may be found in some metallurgical text books.
