Did Wahl Clippers Have Cadmium Plating in the 1970s?

Q. Does anyone know if cadmium plating was used to protect electric trimmer and razor blades in the 1970s?
More specifically Wahl clippers, but also curious about its use on clippers and/or razors at that time.

Q. I am working on an article about the history of electric razors. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post or how to view any replies, but here goes....
Does anyone know whether cadmium plating was used to prevent corrosion or wear on electric razor blades during the 1970's?

There are over 200 vintage Wahl clippers, plus other Wahl products, and other vintage brands on eBay -- you could obtain a couple to test for the presence of cadmium. Thanks.
