Brass Hull Test Panel Cathode Cleaning

Q. Hello,
I have Brass Hull test panels [adv: panels on eBay or Amazon [affil links] which have brownish stain that I can't seem to remove using our standard cleaning practice: Soak Cleaner / Rinse / Activate / Rinse. It is a problem the lab has had in the past and got replacement panels but our supplier cannot replace the material right now. I think it might be some form of tarnish on the panels caused during the polishing process. Has anyone come across this problem before and have a method to clean the panel prior to testing?
Thanking you in advance

A. Hello N Murphy,
I had the same problem in our wet lab. I later found out the lab tech thought he was saving time by peeling the cellophane off all the panels so they are ready to grab and go. The atmospheric gasses in the lab played havoc on them. If your panels look like this out of the box, I would return them to the vendor.
