What is "IMMUNIZE" finish?

Q. We have a current drawing that shows the finish as "IMMUNIZE". The material is 303 stainless steel. Is IMMUNIZE the same as Passivate?

A. Hi Tim. Apparently! At least so said Milt Stevenson in thread 39665.

But you've never heard of it, I don't recall ever having heard the term, Milt called it old-school in his posting from 13 years ago, and the term appears nowhere else on this site ... so I'd suggest that the buyer consider updating the drawing :-)
