Gun blue Recipe Wanted
I am looking to get a recipe for Gun blue.
Also curious about being able to coat solder used for making Stained glass jewelry. This to prevent the solder from soiling clothing of the wearer.

Hot water bluing
1/4 oz. potassium nitrate
1/4 oz. sodium nitrate

1/2 oz. bichloride mercury
1/2 oz. potassium chlorate
Mix in clean glass jar add 10 oz. (120'f) distilled water slowly and mixing with a glass rod till cool. Pour into clean dark brown glass or plastic bottle. Store in cool dark place.
