Powder coating on Aluminum Zinc (Aluzinc) coated sheets

Q. Hi,
Is it feasible to powder coat on Aluzinc sheets. If it is possible, guide us with the method.
Thanks,
Siva

A. Hi Sivaraja. Although you should certainly check with the Aluzinc supplier, I can't think of any reason that powder coating would be inappropriate.

Although a zinc phosphate pretreatment should be workable, those suppliers who reveal their pretreatment seem to be using chromate conversion coating, which sounds ideal for a material with high aluminum content like Aluzinc. Good luck.
