How to get a lighter color gold plate (11 karat?) on vintage musical instrument?
December 2, 2016
Q. Hi,
I restore vintage saxophones, and some of them are plated with a lighter color gold plate. I have been told by a vintage sax expert that this was called "coin gold" in the 1930's, and was 11 karat.

Do you know where I could get a small saxophone part (an ~8 inch long neck pipe) plated with 11k gold or something that looks the same?
Thanks,
Brian
