Painting aluminum sheets to be digitally printed with UV inks
Q. We have a client wanting us to digitally print a graphics on 450+ sheets of .125" perforated aluminum that will be going up on the side of a parking garage. We told the client we need to confirm that the aluminum panels are painted with the correct paint that our UV inks will adhere to. We are printing this on an Acuity flatbed using Fuhi Film inks.
Hoping this forum and shed some light on this situation. Not have much luck from Fuji, our standard aluminum supplier or any paint suppliers.
Additionally, we will be adding silkscreen clear coat over the UV inks, but if we don't get the base coat right everything else could fail.
Thanks much,

A. We have always had good luck with the "Polane" line of products from Sherwin Williams.
