A. Clean to remove organic soil and films
Dip in 2%/vol commercial 66 degree sulfuric acid
Silver strike

A. Sorry, I have to disagree with Mr Probert's recommendations, if you are using a potassium cyanide based silver strike or silver plating bath. If you are using a non-cyanide silver bath please disregard my comments. sulfuric acid dip really should not be used on a cyanide silver line. If the parts are not rinsed well enough there can be cyanide gasses generated as you go into the strike bath. A quick cyanide dip or potassium hydroxide dip (4 to 6 oz/gal) before the silver strike is generally employed. After the dip you can go directly into the strike bath, then directly into the silver plate bath. Hope this helps!
