Dome shape or pointy shape copper pillar electroplating

December 22, 2014

Q. Does anyone have experience with copper pillar electroplating?
I tried to plate dome shape and pointy shape surface copper pillars, and I have seem it on paper which plated dome shape but never seen pointy shape surface. Is it possible to plate point surface copper pillar? I don't know how to start plating dome shape pillars, could anyone share their experience?

Thanks very much.
Kevin

Hi Kevin. Is it possible to include a photo, sketch, or dimensions? Sorry, I'm not quite sure what you are trying to do. I think you are talking about "pillar bump" fabrication -- but you'd like the column to be sort of like an obelisk, or with a cone on top, rather than flat-topped?
