Powder Coating as Sheath Material
September 27, 2013
Q. In our C&I project, design consultant is suggesting MS CRCA with powder coating as sheath material for construction of console.
Is this type of powder coating available?

A. Hi Santanu. My interpretation is that you are having a communication difficulty with your design consultant which can only be resolved by communication, not by soliciting opinions from 3rd parties.
You have to get him/her to clearly enunciate what they mean by "sheath" because in one sense any coating at all is a sheath, in another sense many people would consider a sheath to be removable, in a third sense s/he may want the powder coating to electrically or thermally insulate the metal as a protective sheath. Unfortunately you can't, out of context, put fine nuances on common words that other people sling around without nuance. Good luck.
