Plating on Floor Tiles

September 8, 2013

Q. Good day

We have metal tiles in our factory. We started having rust problems. Removing the rust is easy but we need to plate them to prevent the rust. The problem is that they are fixed to the floor. Is there a way, or what type of plating can we use?

A. Hi Alberto. I am not familiar with plated floor tiles. Are they zinc plated? Galvanized?

I think paint would be not only easier, but better (assuming my mental image is correct). How about painting with zinc-rich cold galvanizing compound?

Regards,
