Want thick electroless copper on nickel strip
August 24, 2013
Q. Hi everyone. I'm doing electroless copper plating over nickel strip (~15 µm width). I want the thickness of the copper layer to be 15-20 µm. I've tried some solutions. It's difficult to get such thickness within one hour (or 4 hours, if one hour is impossible). The components of one of the solutions is list below. it seems that the plating velocity become very low after the copper layer getting some certain thickness. why this happens? how can I get my thickness?
thanks a lot!
CuSO4.5H2O 7 g/L,
potassium sodium tartrate tetrahydrate

A. Hi Paul. Either we have different things in mind when you talk about strip width, or you'd better double check it. Thanks.
