Looking for a Simple Evaporator

We are looking for a wastewater reduction system.A promising way could be evaporator (or dryer?), but very simple one - atmospheric and without burner.I'd appreciate some tips for this product.

Hi Frantisek

! I'm sure that you have already thought of this ... or others have suggested it.

This system works, too, for 'concentrating' very dilute chromic acid for putting back into the tanks.

The concept is to use an ordinary cheap metal fan. This is to blow into a 'box'. The box would contain 2" or so PP packing (as used for mass transfer scrubbers).

At the top of the box you could have spray jets or just a very simple 'weir' using perforated plastic (PVC) or metal. As the open area of PVC perforated sheet is not more than 26%, this means that a good and very simple distribution header can be made. To reduce this percentage further down, easy, just place either some cloth on the top of the perforated material to reduce the flow rate. Allow for 6" of water height above the perforated.

Assuming you have warm waste air, pump this through. If you want a perfect removal of any ensuing 'mist' from this crude device, use a sine curved mist eliminator blade bank @ 20 mm centres @ 5 M/s velocity design. Cheers !
