Commercial name of Al 2024 T351




Q. Hi ,

I want to get Al2024 T351 material in a wholesale shop . But no one understands the nomenclature . How to ask for the material? Any commercial name?

A. "2024-T351" is the common name for the material, or at least it is in the States. The alloy composition is also registered as '2024' in the Teal Sheets, recognized by all the legitimate aluminum producers worldwide. So no, it doesn't really have a popular tradename.

It does have some popular specifications, though. Try searching on "QQ-A-200/3" or "QQ-A-225/6", maybe with an "AMS" in front. That might get you closer to your objective.
