Electrolysis for rust removal: effect on chrome plating?
Q. Does electrolysis for rust removal have any effect on chrome plating? is there any nasty chrome stuff that ends up in the electrolyte?

A. Hi John.
Yes and yes. Don't electrolize chrome plating. It will be removed and converted to hexavalent chromium.

Thanks!...funny (not really) how it's out on the net that it will have no affect on plating, etc. Thanks for being here.
