Is chrome plating of atomizer of electronic cigarettes safe?
Q. Hi sir; been reading some posts and it's not really clear for me. I don't know if chromium poisoning/toxicity is caused mostly by work related jobs.
I'd just like to ask is electroplating safe for electronic cigarette atomizers?
Thanks!!

Hi Jomar.
I don't know how electronic cigarettes work, but chrome plating has been used for kitchen utensils and even flatware. However, decorative chrome plating involves an underlayer of nickel plating. Although nickel plating is widely used in jewelry in the USA, enough people are alergic to it that I personally wouldn't specify it if people's bodies touch this atomizer. Silver plating, or gold plating with an underlayer of white bronze instead of nickel sounds better to me. Good luck.
