Safety of cadmium plated home appliance




Q. We purchased a Brentwood 1000W electric single burner model TS-322. There is a note on the package saying ...chemicals known to the state of California to cause .....
The metal under the heating spiral looks like it's coated with cadmium. This metal will probably get heated to over 500F.

Is it safe to use it at home? Would you recommend to return it?

A. Hello Y.

If it's cadmium coated I would recommend returning it. But I'll take a 10:1 bet that it isn't.
