Brass plated silver wire turns black over time

Q. hi
I am brass plating on silver thread (wire) and then rinsing, and afterwards potassium bichromate solution plating on brass plated threads (wire) this process receives "golden yellow" rich color (without using gold metal), but problem is this product after 30 days is turning from gold color to black. What can I do?

A. Hi Ramesh. Please tell us what the product is, so we know what potential solutions are available. For example, lacquer may help, but is not a viable solution if the wire needs conductivity. I hope this is not jewelry ... bichromate on jewelry is an absolute "no go".

Q. My product is "silk thread on silver thin wire covering"on silk.
Silk is observe water but it is not automatically dry.
It is manually dried by heating, and my product is dry; then it is very dull and not shiny.

A. You go for post plating water based lacquers or sealants which are definitely solve your problem.
