Color variations in aluminum anodizing
Q. I am working as a production engineer in aluminum industry. We are facing problems in color variation as we are checking it twice a day in lab. What are the basic parameters required and how can we improve this?
As temperature of our bath is about 25-28° C and 15 volts is used for a time period of 1 minute ten seconds to 1 minute forty seconds for light champagne to dark brown colors respectively.

A. Hi Muhammad.
Your situation isn't clear to me. If the champagne to dark brown color is being imparted by the anodizing bath itself rather than by a dye or a two-step anodizing process, as you seem to be implying, then what is your process? Is this oxalic acid anodizing or integral color anodizing?
