Chromated aluminum, and ASTM standard to simulate swimming pool conditions

Q. Our client would like to use chromated aluminium 6061 alloy parts in the roof structure of a swimming pool? We are wondering about the corrosion issues due to high humidity and the presence of salt vapour.

Also, can someone please kindly let me know the relevant ASTM standards for this application?

Thanks,

Sridhar.

A. ASTM B117 Salt spray is commonly used for corrosion testing. It's not exactly pool water but the chlorides are the operative corrosive agent in both cases.
