Surface of hot dip galvanizing bath is "creamy"

Q. My name is Dario, I am a General Manager at HDG facilities in Brasil.
My question is about the surface of the Zinc Bath.
The surface of zinc bath is expected to show the appearance of zinc oxide (powder), but lately the surface seems like "cream" with a certain viscosity. What would cause this effect?
Thank you.

Sir:

Does this creamy surface have a color? If yes, what color? Do you use prime western or SHG zinc? Do you use additives? If so what and in what concentrations?

Dear Dr. Thomas
The color of zinc bath is grey (strong or dark intensive colour).

The zinc is SHG

The bath mix is:
Al : < 0,005%
Fe : 0,0246%
Ni : 0,0375%
Zn : 99,8416%

Thank you

Sir:

Do you buy pre-alloyed Ni/Zn zinc or do you use nickel powder plus a spinner to maintain 0.035% nickel? If you alloy nickel powder, is this the time you see the creamy surface?
