Best Practice on drying Specimen after Salt Spray Testing

January 10, 2012

Q. Hi all,
I need some input for drying the specimen after Salt Spray testing.

Below are the procedures that I do after I take out the specimen from Salt Chamber:

Gasoline-powered Air Compressors

on eBay or

Amazon

(affil links)

1. Leave it for 1 hour to dry
2. Wash it with water. I use only tap water... turn-on the faucet and let the water run onto specimen.
3. I quickly dry it by giving a little air from air compressor [adv: air compressors on eBay or Amazon [affil links] to dry the specimen.

Am I doing the correct procedure?
I read the ASTM B117 and it just says "... then immediately dried"

Kindly advise.

Thank you in advance.
